This is your Town Manager Alex Torpey here. In this episode I sit down in Town Hall with Emma Wolfe, Dartmouth College's new Vice President of Government and Community Relations. This is a new position at Dartmouth and part of some of the exciting changes coming with Dartmouth's new President, Sian Beilock.
In this episode I wanted to give some space to introduce Emma to the community. We chat about what the position entails, a bunch about Emma's background in higher education, city government, and organizing, how we approach the challenge on college campuses, and in the broader community, of creating spaces where we can discuss hard subjects constructively with each other. We also learn a bit about what Emma's been hearing so far being up here, and her quick take on the Upper Valley!
I hope enjoy this chance to learn a little about Emma, as she'll be involved in many avenues and forums with the Town, and will likely meet many of you listening in the coming month and years.
